Kicking the Sugar Habit

Friday, November 17, 2017

I am Tova and I am a diabetic. Boy is that hard to say. As well as saying no to sugar and sweets. I am on the kick the habit challenge and day 2 was supposed to be about journaling. Saying no to candy is my biggest challenge. If I don't have it in the house, I am usually ok. But if it is there, I am sunk. There are days when I have no trouble. But there are other days that I can't say no and am just too tempted.

So how can I fix this issue. If I lived by myself, I would just not buy any of the trigger foods. I know what they are and just wouldn't buy it. But alas, I don't live by myself. I have asked dh not to buy the food but he still does. And dd loves me with sugar and chocolate.

Oy, it's hard with family members buying what you need to avoid. I asked DH to buy and eat sweets in private, so I could avoid all of that. Helped for a while, but he got lazy about it. But at least it helped me build my resistance muscle, so that helped me.

I am not diabetic, but I eat way to many sweets. Candy & sweets in general, are not healthy things to eat, and I know I eat far too many. I have at times limited the sweets and did well. I love to snack. I know it is time to make more good habits. thank you for blogging on this subject. I needed to hear it. It is time to challenge myself.

I wish you the best in this venture.

I could have written this blog. I have the same issues with my DH and having the food in the house. I have had some success in the past by telling myself that he is not forcing me to eat and that the problems are not always his doing. But right now I am struggling too.
