Day 11... The streak continues

'Successful people know the difference between patience & procrastination.' (Quote Soup)

Talking with some co-workers today, I was surprised to learn that I am one of only a handful that have registered for the insurance company's free weight loss program. Curious, I asked why because I knew quite a few people who were originally interested in the program.

The number 1 reason I heard for not registering was 'They just don't have time.'

This was weird because I know plenty of guys who are actively involved in year round sporting leagues (everything from ice hockey & curling to basketball, baseball, etc.). Of course, there are also those guys who just 'don't care' about healthy living for one reason or another.

As for the women, I know plenty who walk / run whenever the weather permits. Some take classes at the local gym. And as with the guys, there are those who just 'don't care' about healthy living.

Not caring about healthy living... These are the people who seldom (if ever) go to the doctor and / or have a major health condition of some sort. (No surprise)

As for me, remaining healthy is crucial... Along with my regular doctor, I have a team of specialists & surgeons I follow up with several times a year.

Coming back to SparkPeople, I track my meals & fitness daily. I even penciled in a workout schedule on my calendar, alternating days between cardio & strength training. Sometimes, on my days off I do both. In doing so, I'm finding an abundance of fitness videos thru Spark TV consisting of things I've never tried before (i.e. kettle bells, Bollywood fitness, boxing, etc.) to mix into my 'regular' routine (videos I own, step aerobics, etc.).

Besides being here on SparkPeople, I continue to participate in the weight loss program through the insurance company, although the majority of the weight loss techniques they talk about overlap with SparkPeople (i.e. tracking meals, fitness, etc.).

I'm a fighter... Quitting is not an option (despite a few set backs).

We all have set backs. Quitting is not an option because it is failure.
