Day 8

Sunday, November 12, 2017

Tis the season to develop new (healthy) habits...

Woke up early again this morning to start my day exercising w/ Coach Nicole (video). Today was cardio. Exercise session complete, I ate a healthy breakfast before getting ready for work.

Heard my 1st Christmas song on the radio on my way to work & this got me to thinking... Isn't it a bit early for Christmas music / decorations, etc.? I mean, what happened to Thanksgiving? Last time I checked, Thanksgiving is in November & Christmas is in December.

* The store where I work is owned by a highly Christian family. They are firm believers that Christmas music should not be played until after Thanksgiving (2nd week in December to be exact) & should continue to be played for 3 weeks after the official holiday (until the feast of the 3 Kings) *

It's weird, I know but I like the owners' way of thinking because they are also big on family values & spending time with family / friends. Thus, the store is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, & Easter Sunday.

Speaking of work, things are picking up as the holiday is fast approaching. Customers bustling around with longer than normal shopping lists placing orders when needed. I'm always amazed with my ability to keep up with those at the counter as the lines are longer than normal.

Yes, I remember the days when the Christmas decor didn't go up in stores until after Thanksgiving.
