Need Socks Recommendations!

Wednesday, November 08, 2017

Hey Spark Friends!
I've been fighting blisters on my heels over the last couple of weeks. I don't think it is my shoes, because I've not had blisters other times I've used them. I got some new socks, Hanes, about the time my blisters started, so I'm thinking it is my socks. I've tried other Hanes socks and been fine, so maybe it is these--they do tend to stretch as I wear them.
So, I'm turning to the brain trust that is SparkPeople for recommendations. I'm not picky as to brand or gender--I wear a size 10 1/2 or 11 shoe, so I do sometimes look at men's socks.
Please help and send me your recommendations.

I can't offer any recommendations as I'm not overly fond of socks. Only wear them for walking exercise or when it gets really cold. My main consideration is color coordination (except for white exercise ones). But I do wish you success in finding the right type for you.

I have never liked wearing socks - all winter long my husband would ask "aren't your feet cold". But while I was recovering from foot surgery because of a broken little toe bone, I thought maybe it was best to wear shoes for awhile. I found these socks at Costco which may not be available to you but I love the blend and they have a nice padded heel. I can easily wear these socks all day long.

So they are called Ladies' Trail Sock - Merino Wood Blend. They are 76% Merino Wood, 18% Polyester, 4% Nylon and 2% Spandex. They come out every fall and I buy at least one package every fall. The first socks I bought lasted well over two years before they started wearing thin and I honestly wear them every day even in the summer.

    Good luck!

I wear Gold Toe socks. My husband, who is diabetic, wears compression socks, but it's really important for shoes to fit properly with compression socks because they don't move at all, like nylons.

    Good Morning,
I always buy Gold Toe socks. I find they really cushion your foot. My mother who was diabetic, loved them. My husband who is really hard on socks really likes them also. emoticon

Cotton socks Like the kind you wear in gym classes The cotton don't thin out and rub with the shoes. I wear knee hi cotton socks Also put a little powder on your ankles before you put your socks on (trick I learn in the navy)
