The title of this blog comes for our DGD’s new favorite movie, ‘Annie.” It also describes how I feel about the last few months of our lives. After our daughter’s wonderful wedding, we found a condo we liked, made a bid and our offer was accepted. We closed on October 26th. Actually we arrived in St. Louis on the 24th after a wonderful ten days with family in D.C. The afternoon of our arrival, we did a walk through before the closing, met with our painter and a friend of DSIL who is retired interior designer. We then went looking at paint colors, new countertops and wood floors. Closing was on a Thursday, Before we left on Sunday, the painter had started after we picked out colors from those teeny samples you get at the paint store, piccked out counters and new floor. And wrote some checks!
The painter is finishing up today, the old counters come out tomorrow and new ones go in on Monday after painter does minor repair over sink. We are replacing all the floors on the main level with wood floors. That is scheduled for week of November 27. From Novwer, 17 - 26, we will be with family for Thanksgiving in St. Louis. We hope to come back and finished getter ready to move sometime around Dec. 10th.. The moving company is coming for an estimate Thursday, estate sale people as well. (We are hopingto leave lots of stuff for them to sell.) and our neighbors who are interested in buying our house are coming through with an inspector on Monday. I am overwhelmed. Each time I feel I have completed either packing or organizing an area in the house, I see soooooo much more that needs to be done.
We also plan to be in D.C. from Dec.18-29. OH, MY GOODNESS
However, just for some happy thoughts and feelings here are some pictures of the new paint and a picture of the countertops we chose. And I will end with some DGD pictures as well.
Gray and yellow in kitchen. Grey is in hallways as well.
Blue accent wall in dining area in living room which is yellow
Blue accents around fireplace because tiles were too close to yellow color
Quartz for new kitchen counters
Now some fun family photos
