Start Where You Are

Sunday, November 05, 2017

And that is what I am doing! I totally got off track, even missed a few days of taking my shake and had candy. DH pointed out, after I have surgery if I miss a shake, it won't be good, I won't be getting the nutrition I need. And if I eat candy, I'll get dumping syndrome. That is not a fun thing to get, btw. I have to get into the habit of this stuff now, for my health's sake.

So, today I start where I am at! I did great for breakfast, not so great for lunch (fried chicken fingers, but we went out with friends for lunch at a fast food place), and am going to have a salad with grilled chicken for dinner. I'm trying to motivate myself more for keeping to what I'm supposed to be doing for pre-surgery. So I looked up the averages for weight loss at 18 months for gastric bypass surgery:

I found this calculator where I plugged in my data and it filled in the average results for at 18 months with my specifics. Any of these would be great! But I want to be in the 20%!! I don't know if that will be possible, with having a hernia, depends on when the surgeons decide I'm okay to have it out or if they go ahead and take it out... I don't know what the plan is. But if it is at all possible, I'm going to make it! But as I said, ANY of these outcomes will be fantabularific!! emoticon

I've been trying all week to get myself re-motivated, I don't know how I could have lost my motivation for this, but things did get kinda stressful there for a while last week while waiting on the final word on the house we are buying.

In other news I bought a new shake that is pumpkin pie flavored. It gets here Wednesday. Yay! I've heard it is great, so I can't wait to try it. I want to buy all the flavors (they have a melon flavored one!!) but I'm going to use the one I'm buying to determine if I really like this brand or not. I hope I do because they have so many cool products for those who have had bariatric surgery. I've still got a while before I have my surgery, but I'm the kind that likes to think ahead and have an action plan. emoticon

It's going to take a while. It's going to be difficult. There will be ups and downs and some sideways, I imagine. But I'll get there. Onederland, here I come!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Hope you had a sensational Sunday!! We went to a new church today and it was pretty good.

Hope you have a great week!!

Sorry, just noticed you can't really see the graph really well. 20% of people made it to 137 pounds from 260 pounds by month 18.

80% made it to 167 pounds and 50% made it to 152 pounds. I like any of these outcomes but really want to make it as close to the 20% mark as I can!!
