Who would have imagined that switching from a hi carb. breakfast to a bowl of diced fresh and dried fruits topped with just over 5g. of ginger marmalade, microwaved for 30 seconds would have made such a difference to my morning's energy levels? Not me, although apparently last time I made this switch, the same thing happened - I felt that I had almost limitless energy with which to tackle the morning's tasks. Even the less enjoyable things didn't seem so hard to do.
Guessing it was the high carb breakfast that was responsible. Don't get me wrong, I've always been fond of a high carb breakfast, but the difference now is that the carbs aren't coming from several slices of wholemeal toast, topped with two poached eggs. Instead, I'm 100% satisfied with just that one small, warmed bowl of fruit with the semi-liquid marmalade coating everything.
Lunch is basically focused on protein, mostly a sandwich containing cheese, a slice or two of fresh chicken, sliced, but unlike my old routine, I don't feel the need for more fruit. Not tempted at all to find something to nibble on at anytime between meals either, which is pleasing.
Dinner? Well, I have two more portions of a casserole I cooked on Friday, so one of those will be my dinner tonight, along with a good variety of fresh vegetables. Maybe it's coincidence, or maybe not, but I'm now finding it much easier to fall asleep at night, and not only that, but I seem to stay asleep till shortly before dawn. Than in itself feels like a major miracle to me,since I've always had trouble getting a decent night's sleep.
