Breakfast with a difference today.

This morning I stuck with the decision to switch from mainly carbs with a little protein for breakfast as I've somehow regarded as my 'everyday' breakfast. A previous blog I'd posted reminded me that I'd decided to switch around my food groups.
Rather than a bowl of porridge with some cinnamon, topped with fat free milk, I once again reverted to a small, ripe pear diced with some chopped dates and a tablespoon of sultanas.It is really cold here this morning, despite the fact that the beginning of Summer is just a few weeks away. I looked at my bowl of cold, diced fruit, and realised that it needed something more. The simple addition of a teaspoon of ginger marmalade, and 30 seconds in the microwave to warm it, made a world of difference!
My breakfast was absolutely wonderful! Just wondering what other kind of fruits I should add to my already delicious combination. Looks like a slow wander through the supermarket fruit and vegetable section is going to be part of my day today. Maybe even some diced dried apricots and figs would be a good standby, but apples are an absolute necessity!
