10/27/17 Day 3 journal entry

Friday, October 27, 2017

Dear Diary... Today turned out to be a surprising day. I went to Walmart & purchased a new scale. 5-6 days ago I weighed 275. My scale was saying I weigh 266lbs. That can't be possible to lose almost 10lbs in a few days. All I've been doing is following my program and achieving my goals... Which are few. Exercise 10 min a day, track food, write in journal, and do what ever new small challenge for the day is. So I get home with my new scale and step on it and I do weigh 265.6... WOW!! emoticon
Can't believe I lost over 9lbs. How can that be possible. Haven't really done anything major except watch my food.
BY THE WAY I DECIDED TO KEEP THE NEW SCALE IT'S PRETTIER!! And here I thought my old scale was broken.

Yep it has the little round things on the bottom. My new one has a metal strip on each side and the book tells u how to position ur feet on them. My new scale hives me bmi, water, and body fat.
My old scale did just like ur's does.

Is it one of those scales with "round plate" looking things in 4 areas on the bottom side (where you normally wouldn't look very often)? If so, I purchased one of those the other day and had the same thing happened. I experimented for a while (all the same day, wearing the same clothing, without changing anything like eating or drinking) and determined it wasn't an un-level floor (for a while I thought I placed it differently in the bathroom), or anything other than my foot placement. Some times I stood with my heels and toes directly OVER those circle-like supporting disks on the bottom side, and sometimes I stood with my heals together and my toes sort of spread out a bit (compared to the other way of standing). I discovered to get an accurate weight, I needed to stand directly over those round disks.

People in the upper 200s can gain and shed 10 pounds of water weight from time to time. In fact, people who have certain health conditions are told by the nurses, doctors, hospital to watch for rapid weight gain to take a diuretic (water pill). If you find your weight frequently seems to go up and down--ask your physician about it.

If it is weight loss, WOOOHOOOO! Way to go! Some times people with a lot of weight to shed have this experience where it is easy at first. You're body is WORKING WITH YOU!
