good morning! rob worked from home yesterday so the computer was occupied all day. he is working from home one day a week--usually Tuesdays. I think he wants to transition to two days at some point. I really like it when he works from home--the whole day has a much more relaxed feel. I sleep in a little, make breakfast a little later, and I have the time to make something that may take a little longer. we have lunch together too. and since he usually starts working between 5 and 6 am (doesn't have the morning commute to deal with) he can knock off a little earlier than usual. yesterday when he got done, he came out and sat down, and I laid down on the couch--and we both woke up about an hour later! it was that kind of a "sleepy" day--cloudy and chilly and rainy as all get out. but it was very nice to just have that calm, quiet time together.
started on the one Christmas card I am doing this year--the challenge for this year is to paint a clumber spaniel on a ladder. I think I have the drawing taken care of for that, but i'm still waiting on a photo for the third dog in the card. so currently I am just working on the background--won't be able to start on the foreground until I have all the dogs to position.
and I threw a brie baker yesterday. went pretty well--it's basically a plate with a groove in it and a big upside down bowl for the lid. I had made a couple before, but the plate of one broke all to pieces and the top to the other one cracked--so I had a top and bottom that don't fit each other. but I really like the top I made, so I have just hung on to it, thinking I will make a new bottom. plates are challenging, and I haven't made too many. the one I made yesterday went fairly well--it will take awhile to dry and come off the bat I threw it on. in another day or so the bowl will be dry enough to trim and add a handle.
hoping it's not raining so I can get ralphie to the park today. he is going crazy since we haven't been able to go for a couple days due to the constant rain.
have a great day!
