New Resolve (AGAIN)

Life has been hectic to say the least. I have been learning how to juggle a new job, a renewed commitment to better sleep, and returning to school to pursue my doctorate in education. It has definitely been a struggle these last 6 weeks or so. Unfortunately something had to go. Guess what it was.......the gym. (And I won't even mention the state of my house!)

Given that, I am determined to get back on track and get back in the gym. Now that I am not feeling as overwhelmed, I am recommitted to getting to the gym 3 or more days a week. I cannot do the bootcamp class I love right now (it is too late at night and affects my sleep), but I will happily weight train and use the recumbent bike and enjoy that time I have eeked out of my schedule for this. And schedule I must! It is the only way I can ensure I get to the gym. Clothes are in the truck. Shoes too. And I am resolved to get back there.

How do you ensure you get your exercise in? What types of strategies do you use to help you stay on track?

    When Im not ill with the terrible flu--I get up at 5am--either way;k outside---or do the Treadmill in this bad weather--Its a quiet time of day with no interruptions-Lynda

    You do have a busy life. I hope you're enjoying yourself. Honestly, I have to make exercise a non-negotiable for my emotional sanity and my pain management. So I allow other things to slide if I have to.

    Like you stated time management, and motivational music I was in the worst funk when after I had gotten extremely ill I just now have found my new motivation it was completely wiped out I say find you some good motivational coaching music and listen to it right before you are planning to go to the gym it always gets me hyped up.

    This is one of my struggles too. I have committed myself to my Wednesday walking group, but anything past that is fitful at best. Right now my rhinestone calendar is helping me with this. It reminds me that I've been slacking and just how bad it is and it motivates me to do more and to not give up. I also try to not make exercise sound like a chore and I give myself credit for all the things I do do. The minute fun gets sucked out of the equation, the more stubborn I become to participating in exercise at all. So that's another vote for "Do what you like to do " and "It's all good.Good luck.
