"5. I wish I felt happier in general.
Protecting and nurturing your mental health is an important part of overall wellness, and studies show that walking regularly has the ability to lower your stress levels. Also, studies show that aerobic exercise such as walking may bring long-term benefits to your mental disposition by warding off both depression and anxiety."
I find it nice that I can walk in shorter walks if needed...longer ones when I have time. I try to pick times when local traffic is lighter since I walk mostly on a country road in an area that is filling with subdivisions as the farms sell out. No sidewalks here. It is the total walking experience that counts...my daily goal is a minimum of 12000 steps a day. The more I walk, the better I feel...and each time I bumped up my goal, I immediately dropped a few pounds and they are staying off.
