October Blog Series - October 7

Three days in a row and a Saturday to boot! I'm not sure I wouldn't be here if I hadn't just finished an actual workout, my first one since maybe last November, certainly my first since hip replacement surgery in June. I have been hemming and hawing and making all sorts of promises to myself that I haven't kept, and then this morning I realized what better time to start a streak than when I have 3 consecutive days off, when I can't use that "when?!" excuse for not getting it done. I also decided that, like my friend Kellie, exercising at home is really my best bet for finding the time to get it done. So I went to "on demand" and found a 15 minute basic walking workout. In some ways it was easier than I thought it would be, in that my hip and balance felt strong throughout, but I did have trouble keeping the pace once it picked up. But I did not stop moving, and we all know that is the key. So while I know this day is not complete, I'm going to address my goals for today. Physical: I had breakfast and nothing more, did my PT, and did a workout. I cannot tell you how good that monkey off my back feels. Personal: taking my son "homecoming dance shopping." He wants a black dress shirt and a pink bow tie for breast cancer awareness month. I am going to try to talk him out of the pink suspenders, will let you know how that goes. Professional: as I ponder my professional future, I vacillate in what I think is best for my near and extended future. But one thing I am certain of is that I am not without options. That is a good feeling.

    Good job Tina! So thankful you got the fitness started at home. I need to buy a new remote charger for our Wii so I can get the Wii Fit going again.
