Moving Again

Sunday, October 01, 2017

I've had so many moves in my life that I don't remember the exact number. Right now, I am living with my youngest and my granddaughter in a house owned by my oldest. My furniture is in storage in Michigan, and I am in Alabama.

My youngest and her significant other have found a house on the next street. Their bid was accepted and there's a tentative move date at the end of the month. My oldest is considering putting this house up for sale afterwards. It's too hard to make 2 house payments and I don't blame her.

So...this gives me a couple of options: move in with my youngest again or find another place. I really am not looking forward to either. With me being the stay-at-home person, any way I look at it, I will be covered up in work the next few months.

But...I will look at the positive. It will be a fresh start' another time to get rid of the things I really don't want/need. It will definitely keep me busy. But not too busy - I have to have foot surgery on Oct. 9 and have to be completely off the foot for 2 weeks. Then I will have limited movement for another month. How will I do everything? Very carefully and creatively. I also look for suggestions on how to make the transition easier.

Oh! Moving is hard and I am not sure how you will do it with your foot. I guess the first option is decide where you want to go. Then how to do it. I hope you have the resources (e.g,, friends, money) to have someone move your stuff. When I move I see it as a way to get rid of stuff and it helps. Good luck.
