Health Update

emoticon So shocked right now!!! I have not been able to lose weight since June. I had been stuck on the same weight.

In the past 3 weeks I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Diabetes. Doc took away the Fibro meds last week, because they were making me sicker, and started me on Metformin, low dose, last Friday, to see if I can get my numbers under control and lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks.

So far, my glucose was at 274 emoticon and 284 in weight, when I started. As of today, my glucose number has been between 139-193 emoticon and I have kept off the 3 pounds I lost over the weekend and lost one additional pound as of today in total of 4 pounds this week. My official weigh in will be tomorrow, but just to be this far makes me really happy. emoticon

The only thing I changed in my diet this week is that I have only consumed bread once this week (yesterday, I think that's why my number was 193), pasta once this week and no soda, at all. The sad thing is emoticon I also eliminated some stresses from my daily life (family emoticon ), although I love nephew and his brood dearly, sometimes certain people are not healthy for you if all you do is tip toe around causing additional stress to make others happy, so, for me, this is good.

Shocking part is, I have only exercised 3 times this week. I usually do 7 days a week, anywhere from 30 min to an hour a day. So I'm wondering, other then the medicine, if either the type of exercises i was doing were not helping or I was doing to much and my body was confused. emoticon Who knows, all I do know, whatever it is, it's working and I will continue with that.

The only issues now is that my muscles and joints are still hurting. emoticon So in two weeks we will know what to do with the Fibromyalgia if losing more weight isn't helping. But I am still very happy of this week's outcome. emoticon

    I wish you well with your journey on how to control your diabetes. Be as informed as you can get. Once you truly understand it, you'll know how to control it. It's not all medication, but also the control of food, exercise, sleep, and stress. Keeping yourself healthy also counts.

    Take the time and truly get as much information as you can regarding diabetes. As you gain knowledge this will become easier to live with.

    Sounds like things are looking up and with your doctor you'll figure this all out.

    It is hard to distance ourselves from toxic people, but sometimes we have to do that. Tough decision.

    Good that things are getting better, and hope that you can resume some treatment for the fibro sooner rather than later!

    Ah yes, sometimes we just have to release toxic people from our lives, even if they're family. Hard to do. But we have to do what's best for us.
