Needless to say this has been the most stressful hurricane I have been through in all my life. My nerves had been rattled enough with my summer losss of mom, my son moving to Delaware and also waiting to hear from my sister in Houston Texas as Harvey went through that state.
Thank God she is fine and not to much damage.
Now Irma starts hitting Puerto Rico where my other sister and two brothers live so more worries. Add to the mixture that my in laws are both in a nursing home in MIami and we can't get to them. Then I had to close up my classroom in preparation for Irma. So by the time Irma hit us I was so stressed that it was not funny. The howling wind, tornado warnings and loss of power on Sunday just made it worse.
However, I am extremely grateful that we survived and yes we had roof damage - wish means new roof- we had no power for 5 days - but we are here and just happy we all survived.
I went back to school on Wednesday to get room ready for students on Thursday. We are a private school so getting kids back to routine was great.
We finally spoke to my in laws on Friday and they are as good as can be - health wise they are not doing so well. -
My family in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 is finally getting power back and doing ok.
Today Saturday I sit here at home exhausted from the week but happy to be able to talk about it and helping those that need it.
Thank you all for your prayers during this time.
