The weekend and I'm hanging tough!

It's hot---
I just came back from my walk/jog---3529 steps--far from the 9000 that I aim for-
I don't always make that amount, but-- (that big "BUTT") --I try---
The sun is out and we have high humidity-

OK---I must show you this picture--

-the big and the little--

Last night I heard Sushi jump up on my side of the bed----came over, purring, and fell asleep on my chest--
This is the feral kitten who has resided on the upper level of the house for 10 mos now--who used to whack me ---who lived under our bed for 3 mos----and bit and snarled at me if I tried to even touch her-

A lot of love goes a long way I guess-
To-day I shall try to have "the patience of JOBE", as my Mom used to say-
Himself is home and we have water all over every counter-even on the mirrors---
Himself, being Jamaican--AND -a Doctor--believes that the bigger the splash, the cleaner the hands---and always delights in a surplus and force that a tap in Canada produces!
My work will be cut out for me ---and hopefully I can keep the mouth (mine ) closed---

Lord love a Duck---healthy food only to-day---ALL day---- emoticon

I agree with Jeannette59 - that animals are very intuitive. Perhaps Sushi is showing Beau some compassion! You have truly done a wonderful job with Sushi to bring her around. Such a beautiful story!

Wedding is coming up fast. Be diligent. You'll look fabulous in your dress!

A lot of love definitely goes a long way!

Sushi purring, Sushi approaching Beau and Beau liking it emoticon I think that Sushi may sense that Beau has not been feeling up to par. Animals are extremely sensitive. Sushi, Tess and Beau all trust and love you and now it is coming full circle....the circle of life.

I totally understand the water mess; my husband's bathroom counter is always covered with water and then water spots from the hard water that he leaves to dry, if I am not home to clean it up.

Is Sushi still residing upstairs or has she ventured into the downstairs realm? Harry (the cat) when he was in the house always would swat at Max (the dog) when he walked past. Now Harry is outside and he rubs up against Max and walks beside him.

The joys of pet ownership! Have a great weekend!

I hate to say this but I think it is just the male species. They are oblivious to the mess they make. I have to remind my self what it would be like bumping around in a clean house by myself. I always tell him I keep him around so he can kill the spiders and all the creepy crawlers around. emoticon

Sushi is such a pretty cat. I love her markings. As for that big splash you just might miss it when it is gone. The big day is coming soon. Sept 22nd! Get some good pictures of you two or the whole bunch!

Love the pics of Sushi and Beau. They are so sweet together. I think Himself and my DH must be somehow related. At least he hangs up the towel on the shower rod so it can dry after he's through with merely washing his hands and splashing his face with water. I've given up nagging him about it, just doesn't work.

Great pictures. So Sweet Sushi is finally coming around. Once she gets used to your bed she will be there every night. I know you are happy DH is there for company ....mess and all.

Sushi and Beau are both beautiful. And Sushi hasn't swiped him in the nose - yet. Wow - having Sushi that loving toward you is quite a testament as feral cats don't usually come around and behave "that" nicely. You are a loving mom, wife, friend, sister and more...... Man messes - yeah well - it's what they DO --- so I "try" to keep an attitude of gratitude that I have a healthy (sloppy) husband :) emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm glad Sushi is warming up to you. Glad Beau looks like he wants to play. Hand Himself a towel and tell him to wipe the counters. And behind every man is a woman rolling her eyes and getting her foot ready to give him a swift kick in the behind

Love the furbabies' pictures. Yeah, I wouldn't have your patience with hubby. To me it's disrespectful if he's expecting you to clean up after him. Hand him a towel.

OK, which would you rather, clean up water and keep your mouth closed or be the Uber driver?

WOW-Sushi and Beau together in the same room, peaceably? Miracles do exist!! How sweet and loving!

Re messes of the male variety? Hmmm. Rolling eyes does help? Biting tongue.. Sounds like a retraining program might help. Old dogs can learn new tricks, they just need motivated!

Instead of cleaning it up, what would happen if you brought it to his attention, and handed him the towel to take care of it. But heck what do I know- I am single for a reason- LOL

Hate that humidity, don't you? But it could be worse as in FL where it is so hot and humid and NO power.
Just have to be thankful for what we do have - even our husbands who tend to drive us crazy!!! (as mine is right now)

Clearly you are a good fur mommy. As for Himself, he can see the mess he has made, can't he see the pile of towels waiting for him to wipe up behind himself? Seems a bit disrespectful to others in the home to leave the cleanup. Unless he believes in house elves and good fairies. emoticon

I know a few people who use a lot of water, but not many. I grew up in Ohio whee water was plentiful. Then I lived in Colorado for 46 years where water was often scarce. Many years we had water rationing where you could only water your lawn on certain days of the week and during certain hours. That taught most of us in the area about how precious water can be and to be more judicious about using it. (A few never learn, of course, and they either got fines or learned to be sneaky about when they used the water,) Your Himself might have trouble living in a semi-arid climate like that one. One thing (among many) that I appreciate about living in Oregon is that there is more rain here and water is available. Even when we have long dry spells (as we did this past summer) the reservoirs were full from the wet winter and there is confidence the rains will come again. Our planetary climate is changing and getting so weird: I hope those folks are right.Enjoy your water while you have it!

So great to see Sushi and the Germans starting to tolerate each other. Sushi has come a long way in 10 mos. For being a wild cat to come this far, shows how your patience and love has changed her. I think that's super.

Waterworks galore it seems like. Put on your bathing suit and enjoy. emoticon Take care.

At this stage in life I try to be happy about those little irritations (of the male variety) because it means we are still alive and functioning! (By the way, I got a long and hearty lesson in how to drive yesterday....thought of you!)

Good job on the steps so far today. We were having a thunder storm this morning so for the first day in months Daisy and I will not be walking. If the rain cooled the temps down we might try mid-day, but more storms coming tonight. We need the rain but I wish it would be over night!
