Hi everyone!

Hi everyone! I hope all is well with everyone there still sparking! I have not been on Sparks for about a year, limiting my time on the computer. Not much new here, I still take photos and will be selling my photo cards at a senior's residence again this Christmas.

I lost my last cat in July after losing her litter-mate a year ago. I had them almost 18 years so a big adjustment to be cat-less now. These two were very special and irreplaceable, I was lucky to have had them. Although cats are good company and these were rescued kittens that had a good home and long life with me, I won't be getting any more cats. I can't afford the vet bills and special food. I am happy to finally be without messy litter boxes and cat hair everywhere after many years with various cats. Makes housekeeping and de-cluttering easier.

My health is OK, still getting around with my arthritis. I continue to eat a healthy diet and in May I started going swimming twice a week for an hour at the new Y in my area. That extra exercise has helped me lose 20 pounds this year. That's makes 35 pounds lost since retirement several years ago. A slow process as my body gets used to a lower weight in stages, but more chances of keeping it off that way than through quick weight loss. My goal is to slowly lose another 35 lbs and that's enough. Then I will be at a healthy weight, a couple dress sizes down. I don't need to be super slim. Even the weight I have lost so far has made a difference in my knees.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable and healthy autumn and holiday season with friends and family!

Hi, Alice! So good to hear from you!
That's great that you've slowly, but surely, lost 35 pounds, and I'm glad you've found that the weight loss is helping your knees.
What a beautiful, peaceful photo at the top of this blog! You have a great eye for composition.
Hope you enjoy the autumn season, as well. I'm always envious (but happy for you, too) of everyone who lives where you can actually see a change of color for the fall. Enjoy!

Nice to have an update from yu! We just lost my 16 yr. old pup Mr. Spot. Doubt there'll be another. But . . . not closing any doors.

    Glad you're doing well! Kudos.

I just lost a cat. She was 14. Her sister and I miss her. I understand how quiet it must be
