Two Events In One Day

Yesterday I went to two social events, a brunch and dinner out with my son and his adorable girlfriend. I knew I would need to be especially vigilant because these are the situations where resolve crumbles, right? A little extra this, an extra helping of that and then a drink and suddenly willpower is gone… but not this time! I kept reminding myself that I’d rather be thin. And I was able to stick to my plan and have a good time too! Big credit!
I also did two good runs this weekend, one 5 mile with strides (short accelerations) and one slow and easy long run. And they went well. And in the new “be kind to myself” training regimen, I did yoga today rather than the short run I had planned. And I feel good, for the most part. My neck is still giving me some pain but I’m hopeful that the PT will continue to help. Another session tomorrow… I am ready for it! And then another run Wednesday and back to swimming on Thursday. I got a swim snorkel so I don’t have to worry about hurting my neck and I am looking forward to trying it out!
I am so glad to have heard from all my family and friends who weathered Hurricane Irma, so thankful that all are safe and well!
