Return from Vacation

I was very proud that I did a good job following my program in a number of ways on vacation: a cruise ship with constant and abundant food calling my name! Also a visit to a big city and land trips while on the cruise. On the cruise, I started out with a prime rib lunch and dessert. The I decided to have eggs and fruit and/or oatmeal for breakfast, a salad or mostly veggies, little meat and no breads for lunch. Then I had dinner in the fine dining room which served delicious foods with multiple course, but small portions. I had a glass of wine or 1-2 cocktails per day and a nice, but small dessert after dinner. I also walked on the deck, took the stairs more and visited the fitness center 2 of the 7 days to do cardio and weight training. I didn't track food and nutrition on the trip since I didn't purchase the internet package for the cruise and didn't want the hassle of tracking. But I had been tracking nutrition and fitness for many months before the trip so I could make good choices from the dinner menu and buffet items and timed my cardio to 45 minutes per session and number of reps and three sets for the exercises. I enjoyed my trip, and did not feel I was sacrificing by following this plan. My travel companion splits firewood and does other such work at his home but he does not do exercises or cardio. In fact, he walks and bikes at a very slow speed. So I planned my daily activities to include my fitness activities while he read or drank coffee or talked with other passengers or whatever. He is a healthy eater and doesn't eat desserts much.I was very disappointed that he did not want to hike very much .I didn't want to hike on my own in bear country We did bike several miles in the city. Now I can see what people mean when they say we tend to lose, gain or maintain weight like our companions. My sister and her husband are very overweight. He does not walk or do any exercise or cardio at all.She prepares delicious healthy meals for them both. Then he goes out to fast food restaurants with his buddies. She works long hours and at lest walks the stairs and walks at home "when she can"
When I got back from vacation I stayed on vacation from tracking my nutrition and fitness or even following healthy eating and being active. Have been lax cooking for myself at home and when ordering out. I have also fallen down on working on my mental health issues. I've been home from vacation for 3 weeks now and am back on Sparkpeople, tracking nutrition and fitness, using SparkCoach. I have been mindful of addressing main issue in my mental health and have returned to my journal and workbook. So I feel great about getting moving again!
