More resources to the fire - 9-8-17

Friday, September 08, 2017

The Deep Creek fire continues to grow. Michele McKellar got this shot:

The fire has now burned 3,795 acres and a haze lies over the valley, which you can see in this photo from Bas Wolf:

There are 254 people out there fighting it. The West Routt Fire Protection District posted this photo, indicating the deer aren't too scared of the fire....and the elk are bugling like crazy:

We continue to be hazy here in town, and the sun continues to be a red glow in a smoky sky, as you can see from Bethany Aurin's photos:

Some locals are staying indoors, unused to the poorer air quality we have currently. Others aren't bothered by it and are getting outdoors to enjoy the unusual pink/red glow of sunshine, as you can see from Noah Wetzel's photo:

Mother Mature: Please get your directions straightened out, the water needs to be dumped on the wildfires...not all along the rest of the land!!!

The photos seem to be romanticizing the fires; albeit's nothing to gloss over. Mother Nature seems to be dropping water on all the wrong areas these days. emoticon emoticon

Hope they get it out soon. I'm not enjoying the smoke at all and we are not even that close to it. Praying...

We are being effected by so much right now. Fires, storms and floods. Just now taking a break from packing emergency goods to be sent to Texas. My thoughts and prayers go out to many in dire need!

Oh gosh. Sad to think of the wildlife impacted by these wildfires, but even more importantly, the people affected!
