I put this Beck card to good use yesterday when I had a craving to eat a bowl of granola after dinner:
When I have a strong desire to EAT OR DRINK something that's not on my plan, LABEL IT. Tell myself, it's just a craving. It's uncomfortable and intense but like hunger, it's not an emergency. If I continue to struggle after reminding myself that it's just a craving, remind myself to read this card.
I also consoled myself with the promise that if I was still hungry before bed that I could have a little snack.
Turns out I was fine…
And in other news, my neck is starting to feel better, after a couple sessions of PT, a massage and starting to take my glucosamine and chondroitin supplement again. I started taking it 5 years ago after my recovery from knee surgery wasn’t progressing as I had hoped, and it seemed to help. But I ran out a few months ago and kept forgetting to stock up again. Back on it now, and planning to keep it up!
