Alternative to eating cake, eat the plate.
Goodness! What a busy few days!
Traveled south to visit our grandbaby for his 1st birthday. We drove over 700 miles round trip from Friday through Monday evening, or rather wee hours of Tuesday. Needless to say, I slept pretty heavy when we got home, then even last night wasn't too bad, some back pain, but I managed to get close to 7 hours in. That is good.
Today I went for my initial eval at physical therapy - goals - sleep better, move better, be able to sit/stand longer. Will be using exercise and manual therapy - massage I hope. So, it was just the evaluation, and nothing else, :( oh well, not long til I go back, just a couple days.
I was really good this trip - I ate no chocolate, perhaps 2 or 3 butterscotch hard candys to wet my whistle. I ate none of the birthday cake, and chose best options when I could. The southern potluck at the church we visited was totally hospitable, and I chose healthy - avoided gluten, and my allergy buggaboo - eggs and mayo.
Traveling really wears me out, and I still feel the aftereffects. Yesterday I was wiped out, but we went and picked up our cats from the vet where we boarded them, grabbed a few groceries (grapes, lettuce, blueberries, potatoes, bananas, yogurt, and a few other things.)
Today I have yet to start my new project, it is sitting in front of me and I need to tackle it. I think I will fuel with lunch first, then get to it.
My grandson was fun. I played games with him, tickled and sang songs, This Little Piggy, and made up new silly words for it. Also lots of other grandma silliness that made my son laugh at me. Hey, that's what being a grandma is, eh?
Anyway - need to get to stuff. Other than walking, I may just do my stretches later. Just feel totally drained.
Getting healthy is my job. So, it keeps me busy.
On an aside, driving that long in a car, as either a driver or a passenger is near miraculous. My back is not happy, but it is not treating me evil either. Nothing a little TLC won't fix.
