Indoor Yard Sale
Monday, September 04, 2017
Where we live, we have home owners associations. There are community yard sales in the spring and fall. It's a ton of work and where the house is, there's not a lot of foot traffic. Most of what we have is girl baby clothes. Helena has gone from 12-18 month clothes when we moved in two years ago to a size 6. We have a TON of little girl clothes.
Last year, my daughter, Sherry found a store that is an indoor garage sale for kids' clothes, etc. in the spring and fall. It's a huge storefront and there were tons of items, I thought we signed up to do the spring sale, but I think we fell through the cracks. I made sure we were signed up for the fall sale. I knew it was coming up, but, again, didn't realize how fast time goes by lately.
How the sale works is that I put the tags on my items, put them on hangers, put them out and work at least 4 hours. When the sale is over, we pick up what hasn't sold and a check for 75% of the price collected on what was sold. I started a couple weeks ago to price the clothes Helena has outgrown. I'm not even half way done with all the clothes we have. I got an email today reminding me that I work in the morning. Uh-oh! I will get done what I can. What isn't priced can be sold in the spring.
I don't get how life goes by so much faster as we get older. I understand that we have more responsibilities, etc. but....someone said there are 17 weeks to New Year's. UGH!
