Day 60 of 100 Days of Gratitude

Sunday, September 03, 2017

Home after a fun, strenuous trip to the Pacific Northwest. Hiking the Cascade Mtns to see the waterfalls required walking 10,000+ steps several days on this vacation.

I didn't want to blow my streak (streaks are really sneaky, aren't they? It's just awful to break one & have to start over on Day 1 again!) But I was just so tired, that I decided to settle for my MUST DO goal( 7500 steps) instead of my dream goal of 10,000.

So at 7500, I was ready to quit...but I still had a little, tiny bit of energy left and breaking that darned STREAK was driving me crazy. So I walked back down that steep mountain road AGAIN and there she was ...just waiting for me. A beautiful doe ....right there in front of me...smack dab in the middle of the dirt road. We gazed at each other a while, then I took a step & she took a leap and was gone. The extra steps were worth the experience. 10,500 by bedtime.
