Around town some trees have already fully changed colors, as G. Fredric Reynolds discovered:
I visited Steamboat Springs for the first time 25 years ago over Labor Day weekend. I can still remember the shock of seeing trees with golden yellow leaves so early in the "fall" season (I was living in TX at the time, and prior to that in CA). Now I (try to) take the seasons in stride. You likely will be celebrating fall colors well into October. We'll be done by the end of September. Your winter will arrive in December/January. Mine may be here as early as Halloween. Many of you will look forward to things beginning to "green up" in February/March. I'll still be shoveling snow. (Lots of it). But in spite of the abbreviated seasons, I've come to love this area and the beauty EACH season holds.
