my first journal entry

I feel very strongly about my resolve to get to my goals. Being overweight was never because I didn't try to loose weight. I was always dieting off and on. Doing whatever fad diet made the weight drop off quickly, but never staying off. This time around it will be different. Because it's not going to be a quick fix. It's going to be a lifestyle change. I did successfully loose weight the healthy way, but I spoiled it and because I wasn't seeing success right away.. being on a plateau- I did a fad diet. Bad mistake, because I couldn't keep it as a way of life. And as soon as I stopped I gained the weight back + 25 lbs. Which just made me feel like crap, being at my all time hight of 285 and growing weekly, nearly 300 lbs. The number on the scale disturbed me. And I'm glad it did. I need to be disturbed to get some momentum for change. I need to turn a negative to a positive. This is my new train of thought. How can I make something negative into a positive reinforcement. This is what will keep me going and change me inside and out. It's a long journey ahead, and it will make me a better person for having traveled it. :D
