WOW - lots has been going on with me!

Hey guys, it's been ages, but I'm still hanging around and keeping up with tracking and whatnot. I haven't been so good at blogging - looks like it's been since December 2016 in fact!
Things have been busy with me. Our youngest son spent the fall semester last year in Japan as an exchange student. It was very interesting for him and I was glad to see that he was getting homesick towards the end. It would have been great to spend some time with him but he was anxious to get back to Lincoln to see some of his friends.
My mother-in-law turned 100 in April of this year. She had been sick with aspirational pneumonia the month prior to her birthday but she made it out of the hospital and we were able to celebrate with her the weekend after her big day! That was a big step and she was able to visit with all of her kids and their spouses and a good chunk of her grandkids and great-grandkids. None of the great-great-grandkids were able to be there which was too bad.
One of my sisters-in-law lives in Florida with her hubby and they were here for the birthday celebration and while here they got a call that their daughter-in-law passed away unexpectedly. They were getting ready to fly back to Florida the next day so they flew down and repacked for a funeral and headed up to Detroit to where Ty and his wife lived. A few days after Cathy's funeral we had to call them and let them know that Ed's mom passed away in her sleep after a short period of unconsciousness. Myra and Jerry ended up coming back to Omaha to go up to the funeral. It was most definitely an awful couple of weeks for everyone.
On the brighter side, Ed and I are taking a 7-day vacation to Orange Beach, Alabama with two of Ed's sisters and their husbands. The sister-in-law who lives in Florida hates to go out on boats and the biggest part of our trip will be a day out in the Gulf of Mexico fishing. Their son, the one who's wife died this summer, is coming down to take his mom's place on the fishing charter so we'll get to spend a day on the water with Ty and hopefully have a memorable time.
We'll be flying into New Orleans on a Wednesday and Ed's sister that lives in Omaha will be picking us up to take a little 4 day tour of Southern Louisiana. She and her hubby didn't have children so they spend lots of time traveling the back roads on vacations. They have a bunch of stuff planned for us so I will hopefully have lots of fun pictures to share later. I bought myself a DSLR camera that I wanted to be proficient enough to take pictures with on our trip but I haven't had a chance to play with it even!! Ugh!
And FINALLY - the big bit of news is that I've started a new business for myself! More on that to come later!!
