Back to the start

I decided to give up on LCHF dieting.

After 2 months, with no results, and so much money and time spent on it, I think I either did someting wrong or 2 months just were't enough, I have no idea. I can't eat like a sparrow, no matter how hard I tried. I've felt disappointed in myself, like a huge failure after reading how so many people lost weight on it. I guess I have to find another way.

I'm back to my eating everything in moderation. After not eating any kind of wheat or sugar for 2 months, it feels really weird to eat it again, but I'll have to manage.
I'm keeping a dozen of my LCHF cookbook recipes, and I will still try to minimize my carb intake, but not so restrictive as before.

I had to post this, because lately I felt too drawn into myself again, not feeling like sharing anything with others because I felt shame for failing yet again. But it feels better to get it out of my system. At least I gave it a go - 2 months. Time to stop moping around and feeling depressed, time to be active again.

So, here we go again, back to the start...

i understand how you can feel discouraged..but don't' see it as a failure...see it as something that didn't work for you. Through trial and error is how you succeed :) you will find what works for you. just keep what if didn't work? at least you're trying. some ppl can't/won't even do that. give yourself some credit :) emoticon

Don't get discouraged! We all have different paths, even when they may lead to the same place. You have to find what makes you feel good and that you can live with for the long term. Being happy and healthy are more important than the number on the scale. I find it easier too focus on adding, such as drinking 8 glasses of water, eating 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, eating all whole grains, etc. Eventually the good stuff naturally crowds out the unhealthy food. But a lot of different things work for a lot of different people, and you will find your own way if you keep at it. Keep it up!

"Eating like a sparrow" .... if that is how it felt then you might be right about not "doing something right" I think you maybe were not eating enough healthy fats? Should you ever feel like going back to a lower carb diet in the future I would make sure you make sure you do eat enough fat. I've always felt more satisfied on the LC path myself but I do indulge in fat (heavy cream, butter, olive oil, avocados, coconut oil etc).

Also.... don't be disheartened by weight loss. I maintained the same weight for a year and just now started losing again. Keep your chin up. Don't go back to too much wheat and sugar as there are health consequences outside of weight gain to doing so.

    Good luck in your journey!

Everything does not work for every body. I found out that I lose weight when I have a low sodium intake. My husband loses weight when he has low carb intake. Everyone is different. I have even went over my calorie limit while keeping my sodium low and still lose weight. You have to find out what works for you. Now you know the LCHF doesn't work for you. Try something different. Have you been monitoring your sodium? By the way, I know what works for me and I still come up short sometimes. We can do this! emoticon emoticon

Only sparrows should eat like sparrows. You said it right there. You CAN'T eat like a sparrow, and you have discovered that for yourself. We all have to eat in a way that gives joy to one's life. emoticon

Let me know if I can help in any way. It usually works pretty fast. If you want to send me what you've been eating, I can go over it.

*hugs* hope you find what works best for you!
