August 10, 2017 HELPING TEACHERS

It is back to school time for a lot of areas. Teachers are starting with new students. A lot of children are excited to be back in the schools. Although the teachers will be spending their days with these students, they are not the only people solely responsible for the students to learn. It has been said it takes a village to raise a child. Let’s commit to be a part of that village and look for opportunities to support our teachers and to encourage our children to learn. Doing so will help them and help our world be a better place.

SCRIPTURE:
1 Timothy 2:1-4 “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. List ways you can support our teachers.
2. Write out what you can do to help students learn.
3. Pray asking God for guidance.
4. Pray for those teaching and for their students.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we pray for our teachers. They have so much responsibility. They put so much time and effort into our children’s learning. They spend hours of studying, planning and scheduling so our children can learn. Thank You, Lord, for those who teach our children. Show us what we can do to support them and to help our children learn as well. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
We have a responsibility to our community to help our children learn.

Teachers shouldn’t be alone in helping our children learn. We should all take on that responsibility.

It takes a village to raise a child. ~African Proverb

We may not all be teachers in the school but we all have something we can teach to the children in our lives.

We should give of ourselves to help teachers do their jobs well and teach our children.

FOCUS:
3 John‬ ‭1:6 “They have told the church here of your loving friendship. Please continue providing for such teachers in a manner that pleases God.” (‭NLT)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

We are to pray and provide for the teachers who take time to study and learn to help others learn and grow.
