Tomorrow is our first day of school. It seems like yesterday I was closing out my classroom for summer and now it is back to school! So many things happened this summer that I barely had time to relax but God is good and I hope to be able to keep myself focused on the new school year.
On Saturday, my youngest graduate college - great day and celebration for him for all his accomplishments. His brother came from Delaware and we had a great weekend. Congratulations Martin - you did it son!!!
On Monday, we had our Teacher Kick Off for the whole Diocese. Great keynote speaker to get us motivated for the new year. However, I was greatly surprised, honored and humbled that I was awarded the "Diocese of Orlando Distinguished Catholic School Award for 2017"
Needless to say I was speechless and so caught off guard.
Today I am in my class putting on the finishing touches and getting ready to receive my students. I ask for patience, wisdom and understanding to deal with each and everyone of my students this year. I love what I do and it is always exciting to start off with a new group and see them grow and blossom before your eyes.
So may this new school year 2017-2018 be an adventurous and fun filling year for all of us!
