Take a Breather

Saturday, August 05, 2017

Today hubby and I took a breather.

I have been sick for so long. This weekend was the first we both agreed I was on the mend, and almost back to normal. Which meant...well it was counter-intuitive. Which meant we had a low-key day.

We laughed a lot. We reveled in each other. We played music and insulted each other. Which sounds bad, unless you also come from a family where you show love by teasing. Trust me, it was perfect for us.

Hubby decided we were postponing the major decluttering project we had planned. He has committed to doing the same in pieces in the evening this week. Fine by me. Regardless it is getting done.

We also booked our 2018 travel. if you've been following me for a while you'll know that hubby and I have a big age difference. This has made us very aware, from the beginning of our relationship, that we need to make every minute count. From our first year together (33 years now) we've been crossing off bucket list ideas, before "bucket list" was a thing. This year we're taking rally car classes in New Hampshire. Driving cars on dirt roads at crazy speeds and learning to jump them. Can't wait!

Next year is a two week cruise that takes us to England, Norway, Iceland, and Scotland. Two of these countries my former-military-husband has never been to. THAT is an accomplishment. Last year I managed a trip where we visited FIVE countries he'd never been to.

That was my day. How was yours? Did you take a breather? You deserve it.

Much love,

Glad that you are better and agree about the travel. My hubby is 13 years older than me. Not sure the age diff between you & yours. I went to Germany this year, without him - he wasnt comfortable making the flight over the atlantic because of his heart issues. But I felt the need to go see my uncle.

So glad you enjoyed each other and made plans for next year! Hugs Dawn.

So glad you are finally feeling better.
Your travel plans sound amazing. Just stay safe.

My knee is getting better.. Amazing what a change in meds can do. I finally got some sleep after almost none at all. Still exhausted but hoping it gets better.

Sorry about my ranting. Have another good day today my Spark friend. emoticon

I come from a family of sarcasm, so I know what you mean by the mutual loving insults! Glad you are on the mend and enjoying life, the way it should be.
