August 4, 2017 FAITH PLEASES GOD

We seem to put our faith in a lot of people and in many things. Only to be disappointed later because those people and things have let us down. We are let down because our faith is in others and not in God. In Hebrews 11, we see the definition of true faith and some examples of real faith. Throughout the Bible we see the results of faith. Plain and simple, faith pleases God. He wants us to have faith in Him and to know He is always with us. He wants us to know He is ready to bless us when we show our faith in Him to others. He tells us it is impossible to please Him without faith.

Hebrews‬ ‭11:5-6 “It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—‘he disappeared, because God took him.’ For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” (NLT)‬‬

1. List some people you have faith in.
2. Write down things where others put their faith.
3. Know we can only please God when we have faith in Him.
4. Pray for a greater awareness of strengthening your faith in God.

Dear Lord, thank You for the reminder to keep our faith only in You. We know when we depend on others, they will let us down. We know when we put our faith in things, they will soon break or disappear. Help us to remember what real faith is and to keep our faith strong in You and Your word. We want to please only You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

It is impossible to please God without faith.

If we want to please God, we should be faithful to Him.

Seeking our own way does not show our faith in God.

God wants us to be faithful to Him in all things. When we are, He is pleased.

We should strive to be faithful to God always obeying Him and seeking His guidance and direction.

1 Kings 8:61 “And may you be completely faithful to the Lord our God. May you always obey his decrees and commands, just as you are doing today.” (NLT)

Psalm 146:3 “Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there.” (NLT)
