My Numbers Are Down

Thursday, August 03, 2017

Good morning...

Ok... I received my results on labs. I'm not going to share the actual numbers, but I will say there was a big improvement. And this was from May - August...

Total Cholesterol down 72 points!
LDL down 30 points!
Triglycerides down 8 points.
My triglycerides were not high in May, but I'll take a reduction ;-)
Vitamin D was up 20 points! Good ole sunshine...I do a daily walk of 3+ miles so thankful for my Vitamin D!
A1C was 5.4
I'm not diabetic although the range for A1C is 4.8-5.6
TSH was a little high even though my T4 and T3 were in normal range.
I will have to do more research on this matter.

Everything else was pretty good. I guess all the hard work of keeping saturated fats below 10% of my daily paid off. I will try to lower that to 7% the next 3 months to see if that makes a better improvement (more bloodwork for my doctor in November).
I did this test on my own through Life Extension (Healthy Aging Comprehensive Bloodtest). Just something I wanted to do for me. Doctors don't usually order the tests I had done, just want to know what is going on inside my veins... I purchase most of my supplements from them also.

So, I guess I still have work to do to keep the numbers low. And that's why it's a Lifestyle Change even in my 60's. It's never to late to start!

Very nice numbers. Those results as a whole are what we call Non Scale Victories or NSV's.

T3 & T4 are measures of thyroid function and if in normal range, mean that your thyroid is functioning normally. Overall, keeping an eye on these numbers will give your healthcare provider(s) a good baseline.

My thyroid numbers started going out of wack and eventually led to the discovery of thyroid cancer and the removal of my thyroid.

    Keep up the good work!
