TruTV's "Adam Ruins Everything - Adam Ruins Weight Loss" (Episode Season 2, Episode 2) exposes false information including calorie counting and extreme exercise. The gist of it is that eating a balanced diet of nutritious foods, being active, and consistency are the "secrets" to losing the pounds and keeping them off for a healthier life.

Golly, who knew? Amazingly, LOTS of people. Then there are the people who expect quick fixes. Well, back to work!

    It's harder to stay consistent when we think of it as a "diet" that will end once we reach our goal. We have to think of it as a new direction from which we will never stray--never going back to the habits that got us here in the first place!

    That being said...I do still wish the weight would come off just by skipping a couple of meals like it used to.
