Day 55 and Day 56 of 100 Days of Gratitude

Sunday, July 23, 2017

The day before yesterday, we traveled the roads on the 2nd link. Yesterday we drove the Engineer Pass. If you'd like more veiws, check out and search for Engineer Pass and Alpine Loop to Engineer Pass in Colorado. Be sure to fasten your seat belt before you watch the links. lol

The road is made of broken rock (very little dirt fill). The roads are one car width wide even though there is traffic going both directions. (yikes!) We are 12,800 ft above sea level in our new Jeep --- a long, wide Jeep, not one of the short, compact jeeps.

We drove at 1-4 mph because it was so rough and so close to the edge of the mtn in many places. See that straight up road? I said, "We're NOT going up that road are we?" Yes...we went up the road. (I didn't scream or pass out!)

Need I tell you I'm grateful I'm driving on a paved road today witha yellow stripe down the middle?

What adventures you had this summer. Are you back to taking it easy again? I'm sure you've made your plans for getting away from the cold this winter. :)
