After almost 7 years on Sparkpeople, I'm starting to get why other SparkFriends, blog it out! It's the reason, I started doing blogs again after a year sabbatical. I blog it out when I feel a personal need to or to help others. Fasten Your Seatbelts!
I encourage positivity with no excuses! (Once again, medical conditions accepted to reason)
We all have our issues. I analyze my issues and look for workarounds to champion them. I've been paralyzed, I've had to stay in physical rehab for over 6 months, blah, blah, blah. I had already perfected my PTSD! It would've been so simple to just swim in the depression and defeat until I checked out! Still, I found ways to overcome and survive. I do have my bad days, and have broken down in frustration, but we survive!
Then I think about those who didn't survive, those who are still fighting every hour for their lives, and those who took their strong effort to the final finish line!
I did my training run this morning. In mile 3, I started to find pain in my hip. It would have been easy to stop and walk home. I thought about the 26.2 I was training for. I slowed down, adjusted my stride for comfort, the pain subsided, and I finished my 5 miles at Marathon pace. To me, this was a simple issue I overcame. After my run, I did my documentation for my Coach, started to Spark, read my email, and found this!
I had tears in my eyes as I read. I believe I was supposed to read this. It touched me as I'm training for my first Marathon, survived Prostate Cancer, and blah, blah, blah. BUT "Amy" gave me courage, motivation, inspiration, and the determination to NEVER utter an excuse! It had already become my mantra but it's always good to put fuel on the Spark! I'm embracing the privilege of Life!
So forgive me, or forget me, for being adamant about my views on excuses. I can't take the negative connotation of the word! I won't have it on my journey! I'm amazed at what we can do in life if we just decide to embrace it all!
I will always be there for everyone who is on the journey, fighting, screaming, yelling, and acting like a fool all the way! I'm sharing the happiness of life!
