Well I'm A VIP Who knew! Thank you

My sister told me I had to do a blog since I haven't been doing one.
Here goes!

Yes, I'm 5 years cancer free. Collecting antiques saved my life. Sounds funny doesn't it but I love vintage costume jewelry; I went to put on a necklace and felt a lump on the side. When I went to ENT they told me it was a brachial cyst and if it wasn't removed it would get bigger. I asked about cancer and they said less than 1% chance no need for testing. Received a call one Thursday night at 7:30 from the doctor who said it was stage 4. I've never smoked and like many I have a fruity cocktail is we go out (seldom) or on holidays when my brother-in-law makes me a "Fuzzy Navel" 7 weeks chemo 7 weeks radiation but because in the throat and tongue couldn't eat. They told me had I not been overweight I would not have made it.

After getting better I slowly put on the pounds to me it meant no cancer and cancer makes you lose weight. However, being overweight can contribute to increased risk of cancer so I am trying to get to a weight that is healthy but not skinny. Secondary cancers from the treatment are possible so healthy.

Yes I still antique, yard sales, auction sales but I've learned to curtail my pu.rchases as I'm not a seller. I love to sit and read a great cozy mystery surrounded in the history of beautiful things. I've actually read antique mysteries so who knows!

I would love to do that Longest Yard Sale just for the trek and seeing the U.S.

Hoping to be successful at losing the weight but staying healthy

How many days from the time they said no need to test for cancer to the time the cancer was discovered?
Glad that you are now cancer free. My wife had just gotten results back from a mammogram where they said no cancer the day when she found a lump on the left side of her body which turned out to be due to a type of breast cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes. She also has been cancer free for a number of years after surgery, chemo and radiation. Doctors do miracles, don't they?

Congrats on being a Casual Traveler VIP. Hope had a wonderful day in the spotlight.

What a blessing it is to be cancer free for 5 years. I also like yard sales and flea markets. They are so much fun to look around and see what treasures await.
