My Crafty-ness is showing!

Years ago, I babysat some really nice kids. The girl was in middle school, had long hair and had a plethora of hair doo-dads. She kept them all in an old fashioned travel case that someone had decorated out for her. You remember those travel cases?? If you bought an entire set of luggage, if was the "cosmetics case", an odd little (very little) rectangular hard bodied little case that most likely was very seldom, if ever used. Some times, if you are lucky, you'll see them at garage sales or yard sales. If you see one, grab one!!

Then go to your local fabric store and pick up a small print, some folk call it calico. About a yard should do it. Bring it home and cut it up with pinking shears, into 1-2" squares. You'll also need a jar of Mod Podge and a sponge brush.

Clean the outside of the travel case and let it dry. If the inside is musty, you can spray it with Lysol, but really the best thing is to air it outside in the sun and fresh air for a couple of days!!

Here is my tote, just getting started:

And here is what the top looks like all done:

I had made one for each of my nieces years ago for their "hair bows". This one is for my sister.
When it's all finished, I'll post a picture of it!
Happy crafting!!
