Detour/Starting Over

Tuesday, July 18, 2017

I see so many ladies and gentlemen saying the words that nobody really wants to say or hear and it hurts my spirit. Why do they say that they are starting over? I know, I know, they left SP Land for a short or long period of time, thus STARTING OVER! They went on vacation and didn't do well, so, OOPS, STARTING OVER! They had medical issues that got in the way and oh my gosh, STARTING OVER!!! Am I sounding like a broken record? That's because I am!

I left SP Land for almost two years, because of medical issues that I was not able to heal from and I was discouraged because I felt Iike I was holding my team back, which wasn't true, according to my wonderful teammates. I had so much stress with one doctor or surgeon after another and my head felt like it was spinning around, like Linda Blair's in the Exorcist. So, I left to help my body heal.

Now I am back and I AM NOT STARTING OVER and neither is anyone else! You see we all chose to embark on this JOURNEY/TRIP, for one reason or another, but we all have a common goal. Now, when you really get in your car and you're going on a trip, and you hit a detour, what happens? Go ahead and say it out loud. You get diverted to another road, right? Just because you have been diverted to another road, doesn't mean you have to go back home and start your trip all over again. The detour takes you around whatever may be happening on the road to keep you safe. Eventually, the detour brings you back out on the main road that you were on and you keep going to your destination, correct?

So, why should it be any different with the journey/trip that we are on? When we go on vacation, we have hit a detour. When we struggle with our medical issues or medical issues of a loved one, we have hit a detour. Even, when you choose to leave SP Land for whatever reason and then come back, you have hit a DETOUR, but that detour has come back out on the main road, which is SP LAND!!!

There is no reason for anyone to say that they are starting over unless you don't get this blog. We have all been on detours since we have been here, and we have all come back on to the main road, and some of you with GREAT success.

So, here's to the many detours that we may face emoticon and ending up back on the main road! emoticon

emoticon My friend. I have been pulled on a detour in the road but I have been called aside by my Savior to see the way I was headed and what I have and and haven't done, I read out to His beckoning voice and take His hand and step to the path He guides me on and it is forward and positive. I need to listen.

You have written truth! There are many reasons for taking a break or leaving SP, for sure. BUT when the time is right to come back, I feel like you . . . . it'starting over, but starting the journey from where you were at. We may have to polish up those lessons we learned previously, and as the journey continues, we learn more. Sooooo... with stumbles and falls, I chalk it up to lessons learned about how NOT to do something. That's a lesson.

    Great reminder.

I think it is the mindset of each individual. For instance, some like the feeling of starting with a clean slate or 'washing' the slate clean." Kind of like Monday for many are a fresh start to another week. I think it is just a matter of grammar perhaps, or one could say, "I'm going to pick up where I left off" ... emoticon .. and get right back into the groove, not giving much impetus that they were away for 'any given' reason.
As long as a person is not beating themselves up for a short break or longer, that is the main thing. Staying positive and enjoying the ride.

That's so true I joined ten years ago lost 50 and kept it off for about 5 years, then hit a detour now back on track since February and lost 50 pounds going for an extra 12 pounds then plan to stay on the road to maintaining by continuing to track.

Some people just feel that "starting over" is a bit more incentive than taking a detour..."to each his own..."
