Our Weekend Camping Adventure

Monday, July 17, 2017

We left Friday afternoon and the section of 219 we needed to travel on was blocked because of flooding. A pickup truck driver thought we could make it anyway. We could not see the road, but it was not a large portion of the road. So, we followed our SIL through the waters -- we were both pulling campers, of course. Since it was not a four inch depth.

On Saturday, we attended the 100 mile yard sale near the campground. We did not travel 100 miles. We purchased a few things, but not much. The campground offered hot dogs and hamburgers after our busy day to all the campers. They asked that we bring a covered dish.

Saturday evening, I had a headache. My daughter gave me an Advil and I rested. DH had a great time playing UNO with the family. Then about 2 AM in the morning, my DH woke up with terrible stomach cramps and started vomiting. I helped as much as I could and did a lot of praying. We did not eat breakfast, but had tea and went to camp church at 9 AM. Then we had brunch and began packing up to come home. The trip home was about the only uneventful part of our camping trip. Oh, I forgot. When we got there I had a awful mess to clean up in the camper because my latch did not hold on the frig. One of my DGD and my DD helped me clean it up. Ketchup was splattered over the floor, a curtain, cupboard... Oh, bother!

Are we going again you might ask? Well, we are scheduled to go one last time in September. After that, we are planning to sell this 'old' camper and may get another one. Who knows? Not me.

Have a great week, All!

That does sound like an adventure. Nice that you can get out and take part in such activities.

The only thing I think you can guarantee about camping is that it's sure to create some memories - even if they are memories of pitching in to clean up the ketchup!!!
