Chapter 26, Day 16 .... foot injury & recalculating

Saturday, July 15, 2017

Ok, so it is official: doc said my foot injury is a bone contusion, with some tendon damage, in which the injured area is constantly stressed because I walk on the side of my foot. He wanted me in a boot up to my knee (or an ankle boot), a 90 degree night splint, and fitted with orthotic shoes. I said no to the boot to knee, opting for the ankle boot, which can take longer, and can be less effective. I'll try the ankle boot first, and then if that doesn't work, I'll go with the knee boot. The knee boot, was sure to cause me problems elsewhere (knee joints, hips, back) -- so it will be my last recourse.

My injury occurred last September when I came down wrong from a zumba jump. The injury was not healing. Doc said zumba classes help keep them in business emoticon

Allrightythen. I can't walk for my fitness minutes. I'll have to find something else. Chair exercises? Swimming is an option, but I'm not sure I will join a Y for that. And this injury will not keep me from eating properly, lol.

DAY'S POSITIVES
Audit is done emoticon
Our friends from FL are staying with us this week....they are the easiest houseguests...they are leaving tomorrow morning.......I enjoyed our time together.
With ankle boot on, and the pressure off my injury, my foot is not in pain....healing is already underway.

DAY'S PLANS
Figure out a suitable way to log some exercise minutes.
Client work

Wishing you an awesome day!

Follow doctor's instructions to the letter, maintain yourself distracted, do some chair exercises and enjoy calm activities, like meditation, contemplation and chair yoga!

    Get well son, Champion!

OH no what a distressing piece of news! Injuries are tough to take when things are moving along and we're in an exercise routine. Take care of it though before it gets even worse, there certainly are other options. I can't think of any right now but I'm sure that they're out there.
Focus on taking care of your health in a different manner than exercising for now. emoticon

I am glad you are on the road to recovery, no fun being injured, so yes do what the Dr says.
I think you have some good ideas on exercise. Too bad you don't have a pool, best exercise for all of us I think. I already told you some exercises I thought of in the goodie. So I think focusing on healthy eating, and getting better key right now.
    Feel better Vicki emoticon

I don't know what to tell you about exercise, I think I would be more worried about the injury hurting and exercise minutes, right now. Let that injury heal first, no one is going to think less of you if you are not getting 2 hours of exercise everyday. I rarely do, and no one has told me that they are going to unfriend me cause I don't exercise. But with asthma and humid I don't get much either.
