Day 53 of 100 Days of Gratitude

I live on a mountain in CO. Adjacent to our 40 acres are hundreds of acres of BLM (Bureau of Land Mgt) land --people aren't allowed to live on that land. Just wildlife like moose, elk, deer and cattle (ranchers lease the land from the gov't).
Yesterday, I drove out of our garage, and just barely around the corner there was a large black bear running as fast as he could across the dirt road in front of my car. It's the only road out of our house ...and yes, where I start all my walks. So need I say, I'm grateful I was in the car and not in my walking shoes!
To be fair to the bears, they don't like to be around humans and they usually do what this one did....run away like crazy... unless they feel threatened or they have cubs that are threatened.
I DID threaten this bear -- by growling & grunting and impersonating a BIGGER bear ...from the other side of my car & while I was being grateful.
