Getting back on track...finally!!

Typing this on my phone while sitting on my porch listening to a peaceful steady rain... Do forgive typos! I've been sidelined for about 14 weeks with a couple of injuries which has totally sucked. Gained back 8lb which also stinks. First got beat up with really bad bilateral Achilles tendonopathy pain in early March. This was the result of chronic ankle issues and I simply pushed to hard. Lesson learned. I tried to stretch etc but it got to the point where rest was the only option. Then, in late April, I badly twisted my knee. In the shower no less.... Let me tell ya.... That makes you feel pretty elderly and decrepit!! Ok... Resting knee and ankle... Awesome. Time, rest, and motrin were sloooowly helping but I was not doing any real exercising because just walking at work was still painful at times. A couple weeks ago I literally added insult to injury when I kinked my back throwing my pool vacuum in the pool. Fantastic. But...there was incredibly unexpected silver lining...a steroid prescription for the back exacerbation has basically "fixed" my knee and Achilles. And the back. Holy cow. I am walking normally and pain free for the first time since March. I'd actually sort of forgotten what that feels like! So...I'm back... Walking. Slowly. On my Treadmill to avoid uneven funny business. Just plain walking. For now I'm sticking with my basic Fitbit goals of 10k+ steps, 5 miles, and 10 flights of stairs. I'm trying to keep my enthusiasm in check and really really really hoping I've turned a corner with this. I'll be so bummed if the pain returns once the steroids are done. I'm already on a long taper given the success so far! First goal is to get back to 234 which is where things stalled / reversed in March. And... More importantly, I need to get back in the nutrition and exercising habit. O.n.w.a.r.d!!!!!
