Live Animal Cameras Help With Stress

Thursday, July 06, 2017

Feeling stressed? I sure have been lately, so I thought I'd share a link that I've found helpful.

This link goes to the live bear camera at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park & Preserve, Alaska. Depending on when you watch, you may see bears and bear cubs fishing for salmon. You can hear the waterfall. It's so peaceful. I've found it very helpful and calming when I feel stressed.

The page has links to many other live animal camera feeds, all over the world. It's amazing...you can watch goats, whales, puffins, bison, bees, farm animals, cats or dogs. Or you can just enjoy a beach or mountain scene. Some links are live and some are highlight reels. Some have sound and some don't. Just click around and enjoy the view. It's a like a virtual vacation. If you click a live link and it's dark, then you know it's night, so just check the time zone and try again another time.

I hope someone else enjoys this and finds it helpful. I'm posting it also for myself, so it's easy to find in the future on stressful days. See, last night I only got about two hours of sleep, because I couldn't "ease my worried mind." I hate when that happens...my mind races with thoughts and worries, and I just can't sleep, no matter what I do. Eventually I just got out of bed around 4:30 and started my day. Days like this make it hard to stay on my eating plan, because I'm exhausted and not strong mentally. It's also a dreary, rainy day here, and I have a migraine. All I can say is I'll try to make good choices today, but it will be a struggle (and it is Thursday!). But just hearing the water and watching the animals has helped.

Feel free to post if you have any video links that help you relax when you feel stressed or are having a day when you can't stop worrying. Or any other suggestions or tips are welcome. Thanks!

This is great! I never knew that there was this. I am going to start to watch this. All this spring I have been watching Eagles in Iowa. It was great and surprisingly peaceful to watch nature. Thanks for sharing this. emoticon
