Trying Something New

I have managed to be quite regular in exercising at the gym 5 times a week. However, it is time to shake things up in my exercise. I am going to try adding bicycling (outdoors) as another form of exercise. Since I don't know if this is something I am going to like, I purchased a used bicycle a few weeks ago. I haven't been on a real bike since I was a kid (which, trust me, was a LONG, LONG time ago) so it felt really strange. The thinner wheels took getting used to and admittedly, I fell off once during the adjustment period. Nothing was hurt except my pride... but I hopped back on and now feel more comfortable with the whole thing. The next order of business was to find a bike path conveniently located to home because there are no sidewalks by me and the roads are too dangerous. Mission accomplished! Not long after I started riding on the bike path I met another woman my age who has the same goals. We have now become workout buddies (and friends) and are having a great time doing this together.
