June 29, 2017 MEET URGENT NEEDS
We get up. We go to work. We stay busy in our work. We come home tired thinking only about us and what we are going to do when we get home. Our minds are not always on what they should be on because we probably spend way too much time thinking about ourselves. God tells us we should think about others and find out what their needs are and help them. We can’t do that when we are focusing on what we want. When we are more mindful of what God’s plans are for us, we will be more aware of what we need to do and when we need to do it. We are called by God to meet the urgent needs of others.
Titus 3:14 “Our people must learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others; then they will not be unproductive.” (NLT)
1. List what you do every day.
2. Write down when you have met the needs of others.
3. Thank God for opportunities to meet their needs.
4. Seek out someone today who is need, pray and then help them.
Dear Lord, we want to focus more on You and the needs of others. Teach us how to stop thinking about us all the time and how we feel but instead seek out what others need and help them. We know that is what You have called us to do. Help us to obey You today, Lord. Show us someone in need and what we can do to help. We want to take action for You today and help others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Meeting the urgent needs of others means we have to put our own desires and plans aside.
God wants us to focus on what those around us need so we can help them.
When we choose to help others that gives us an opportunity to tell them about God.
When we are more mindful of what God’s plans are for us, we will be more aware of what we need to do and when we need to do it.
God created us to do good things. His plans for us are to help others and tell them about Him.
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (NLT)
God created us all to do good things. Let’s get busy doing His will today.
