Thursday Rambling.

Thursday, June 22, 2017

Well, I was going to have a blog free day, but I find myself kind of bored just taking my hour off and just watch my soap. I am a multi-tasker, and just sitting doing nothing for an hour is really not a joy for me. I have to busy doing something. It about killed me in the hospital to have all those hours and hours ahead of me every time I woke up. Didn't matter if it was 3am and 8am, it was still very looooonnnnnnggggg days. That's when I became a hall walker, better than a street-walker, I would walk and walk, but every few minutes would check on hubby, and with the fluid pills I think I was introduced to every BR in that whole place, except the cancer unit, and the nursery. Stayed clear of those.

One of our neighbors, a mother, dad and 3 children lost their house yesterday to a fire. It smoother & burnt several hours before it was turned in, as no one was home, so it is a total lose. They are suspecting a lightning strike. They only live about 3 miles from us, but I really didn't know them well, knew them enough to say Hi went I saw them, but that is about it. They are having a clothing drive for them and I am sure they will get a lot of help in that department. As their parents are both from our town, and also the grand-parents. So they are well known. Hopefully they can find a new place to live. They are so lucky that no one was home. The husband is a OTR truck driver and he won't even get home until tomorrow so she and the kids are on there own. What does a family do when they have lost everything they own, I just can't imagine it.

I think I mentioned the other day about having to move the mother cat and her kittens cause she was not to smart about her placement and was getting flooded when it rained the other day. Well, as soon as it quite raining she moved them again, this time around the corner from the back door, but still going to get drenched if it rains. She keeps hiding them under my hostas and I have taken a couple of pictures but it is just to dark. Well, yesterday I was cuddling those little babies, and yes the ointment cleared up the eyes in 3 days, and Merlin came over so I showed Merlin the baby, and sit it on the bench and it moved and it scared Merlin, his eyes got really really big and he high-tailed it over to where Duke was. Now here was a little kitten that still fits in the palm of my hand and Merlin at 150# is scared to death of it, and every time I walk over to where they are, he departs my presents. Such a chicken.

Well, you all take care and have a GET day. Linda

Oh my goodness I can just imagine those kittens. I'm having an empty nest feeling and want some grand babies, so suddenly kittens and puppies seem like a lovely idea. Just don't let me do it!

I'm so glad to be back with Spark People. I have "needy" guests right now. They are suggesting that we BBQ with them for dinner and they have invited friends over with a puppy. Hello, I do not want to socialize with your guests. I have been so busy and am desperate for me time. I think loneliness though is part of getting so busy. Always smiling and always available. The kids are taking hubby and I to play badminton so we will do our dinner early and take off and I'm looking forward to that. Love my kids. I got 14,000+ steps yesterday. Yeah me! Lots of yard work. I think I am eating normally again. At least not bingeing. It will take a while to get caught up on your emails but I'm glad your titles seem positive. Hugs, Justyna

Mama cat is lucky you're keeping an eye on her and her family. Silly Merlin. I once rescued an abandoned newborn kitten. My big house cat took one look, hissed at the tiny little thing, and ran.

That's awful about your neighbors. I can't imagine and hope I never have to.

Sad for the family losing their house to a fire. How devastating. I wish them well and hope they are all okay.

Mama cat sure does have a mind of her own! She's going to keep them kittens where she wants them. Funny how Merlin is scare of them. Usually it's the opposite.

    Take care and be safe.

Merlin is a stitch. Sorry about your neighbors. Loosing everything must indeed be terrible. I hope friends and family will be there for them for the long haul.

So very sorry about your neighbor's tragedy. **SIGH** I cannot imagine what I'd do either.

Awwww, that's too funny that Merlin is afraid of the kitten!

Those kitties are lucky you keep track of them!

That's tough when you lose everything, as was said, 'hope they had insurance'. I'm sure the community will be a big help here. emoticon emoticon

Is that General Hospital you are watching? That's my hour in the afternoon to catch up on some knitting!

How very sad for that family and how scary that it happened just a few miles from you. One morning after a pretty nasty storm my husband and I went for a walk and a house just behind us about 2 blocks must have had a lightening strike. The fire department was there and they were taking some things out of the attic. It didn't look like it hurt anything else - luckily for that family.

My big lab is a chicken, too! Mama cat hits the storm door and looks at her she runs. Sweet kittens.

That mama cat and her kittens ought to be grateful that they have their own personal guardian angel. Being out of sight of neighbors has its advantages and, clearly, its disadvantages. I sure hope your neighbors were properly insured.
