I saw something on the Community Feed yesterday, and I'm having difficulty finding the word to describe how I feel about it. Definitely cynical.

This person had started Spark 5 days ago, and there had only been a 1/2 pound change in her weight. She was ready to quit already! Seriously? You only gave 5 days towards a healthy lifestyle change? Why did you even bother joining Spark, if you're not willing to put forth the effort?

Had she bothered to wander around the Spark site, she would discover this is the best place in the world to not only lose weight, but change to a healthy lifestyle. She can join one of the many (many) teams that have similar likes and values. There, she would find others taking this same journey. People who could encourage her. Celebrate her successes. Remind her things take time. Participate in a challenge. Track your points (I love collecting points!).

But don't give up after only 5 days.

Sometimes it just takes a while to settle in and it's a daily struggle for me. SparkPeople always offers support and encouragement. Hope this person continues their quest for the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle

That's why SP is do great! Folks don't judge we support and encourage. Out of all honesty I've been here and back a couple of times, not because the program failed, but because I gave up. All we can do is support it keeps folks coming back! Thanks!!

That's funny I my book, it took me almost 3 months of lifestyle change and increased activity to even loose 1 pound, 9 months more to loose 50 lbs, if I would of quit in 5 days, I wouldnt be sliding into my size 8 pants like I did this morning! Have a great spark day!
