Wednesday thoughts.

No I have not dropped off the face of the earth, but I have decided that I actually spend to much time here, and I have been busy, so something has to go, and my blog is it. So as I adjust to less time here, I really have been busy. The last 2 days we have worked together to get the sprayer on the tractor. Simple, last year, Larry did it himself, but this time I had to help. He can get down on the grown but he can't get up on his own, he can't ever roll over without my help. I truly love doing these things with him, and we get the job done, just takes 2 now, and a lot more time. So we move forward, on onward.

It was raining fairly good here this morning, and that mother cat that has her kittens by the back door was not to smart. For the rain off the roof all meet at the corner right above her nest and with the heavy rain she and her kittens were getting flooded, and they were all soaken wet and meowing, so after chores I got out the pet carrier and put her kittens in it and then her and move her over by Dukes dog house, that he refuses to use, and unloaded them and when out a few minutes ago and she was all curled up drying off the kittens. So I am hoping she leaves them there. See why I would never sell the farm and move to town, as some of you have suggested, what in the H3ll would I do in town. I'd die a very slow death, and so would Larry. We have to do what we can, and maybe let some thing go. We are use to our place being a show place, but maybe we will have to let up on that idea.

This afternoon Lar has therapy at 12:30, so I will take him, I don't let him driving in downtown Storm Lake yet. I will not go into that as to the reason why, to political. And then we will go out and pick-up the old Merlin van, yes, hubby finally made that appointment to get the AC fixed. That is on the out-skirts of town, so he can manage driving home. Him being able to drive himself to town has really really helped, he needs his friends and his conversing, it's a very important part of his life, me, I could care less about going to town and standing around yakking. lol That our big difference, he's a social butterfly, and I am a recluse.

Well, I must go again and make sure that Stubby and her kittens are still in the doghouse and dry, so you all take care and have a GET day. Linda

I can certainly understand why you want to stay on the farm. My friends in Palouse WA live on the homestead - I think they are 4th generation. They are creeping up there, so they lease the farm land to a neighbor and still have their little corner of the world. Their house is 125 years old and is beautifully maintained. I love visiting.

As long as you and Larry can do the things that need to be done together, and you don't have to do it on your own, that is good. Always glad to hear from you, but you are right, first things first.

It is understand given your situation now. Real life comes before this virtual one and it should. I'm glad you have worked things out and have settled into the new norm. I'm glad you are able to help Larry and the two of you get things done.

Life is always busy on a farm. I know that to be true. The work never ends. I'm glad you are happy and that life is as it is. Take care of yourself and Larry.

I appreciate whatever blog time you do give us amid all your busy-ness. You sure have your hands full, but I say better busy than bored. Doesn't sound like there's any chance of you being bored. Hope Larry's therapy helps him to progress so he can do more on his own. I hope he knows and tells you daily how lucky he is to have you.

I had been thinking of you. We were on vacation this week and I had a heck of a time getting onto the internet. We came home a couple days early - very unhappy with the place we were staying.

I would love to live on a farm with all the animals. I had that once, a mini-farm - but only lasted about 2 years. We had goats and chicken and a really nice garden. I miss that sometimes!

We finally had to give up the country life, when one winter (we lived just south of Chicago ) and the snow plow didn't come for 3 days to plow our dirt road, we were NOT a priority...which I could understand, and our provisions were getting really low, we always had peanutbutter and crackers in abundance, and can goods and cooked with gas and heated with gas BUT the furnace couldn't keep up and so we would wear coats, vests and hats inside...as I recall it was about 55 degrees or so... that winter even my husband said that's enough, I am sure he said that for me. I had really had it.. We started to go to Florida earlier and earlier and returned to Illinois in late May not March. Then moved to Florida eventually, and NEVER looked back... there is a time for everything under the sun ...and our time for more sun had arrived. We loved the farm but knew it was time ...we had people pull up in the driveway and when they left there would be a dog, or cat, they had dropped off thinking its a farm they will take care of it... one time it was a pregnant mama kitty, who gave birth a few days later. Maybe I told you all this already ... oh well, sorry..
